Venom

"When do you think they'll be coming?" I ask, the wind icing my bones.
"I don't know, but I hope it's soon, the suspense is killing me." Answers Andrew.
"Soon? Are you kidding me? You won't last a second." I say, annoyed.
"Hey what's going on?" Asks Kyle, coming up behind us with his sisters Mel and Willow.
"Pretty boy here is hoping the Snakereds come earlier, can't handle the suspense, guess what? Suck it up." I say, totally blown out, before I know it, I'm hovering over Andrew, not quite sure what I'm going to do to him.
"Whoa calm down, it's okay, we're smarter than them and..." Kyle trails off.
"We're smarter than them and what? That's it! If our brains fail us, it's a suicide mission and you all know it, now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy what could possibly be my last good day as a human!" I scream, walking away from Andrew sprawled on the lawn with Kyle, Mel and Willow staring speechlessly after me.

Later, while I'm sulking in my room, Willow comes in and gives me a prediction, except it's not one of her real ones that are guaranteed to come true, it's a fake one, that's meant to comfort me. I don't like it.
"Listen, we're going to be fine, we've been the smartest tribe in all of GH, if this  can't prepare us, I don't know what can." Says Willow, clutching my hands.
"That's what everyone thinks, but Snakereds are powerful and they're the greatest combination that anything living could be, they've got all the good from the humans and everything good from the snakes, we can't beat them." I say, with tears rolling down my cheeks.
"Yes we can." Willow's voice is barely above a whisper. I used to like her. Liked her realism. Not anymore.
"Listen, you either get me food, or you get out, because I don't need this fake crap." I say loudly.
"Okay, okay. It's okay." She says as she backed away.
I slouched back onto the head of my bed.
"Hey babe, it's okay, okay? My problem." Says Andrew as he walks in my room and slouches down next to me and puts his arm around me. I shrug his arm off.
"I hate you, I hate everyone in GH, and I hate my life. But most of all, I hate the Snakereds. They're the ones who...did you-know-what." I sob without really meaning to.
"Wow, who's an emotional wreck today." Groans Andrew, getting up and out of my room.
"Tell Kyle and Mel to stop eavesdropping!" I call after him. I fall asleep chuckling.

Titleless

The wind howled like a pack of wolves. I could feel the back of my neck tingling. She was coming. I didn't have much more time. I took a deep breath. I didn't want this life, I never wanted anything but a happy life, and I don't have it. I wanted to do this, this was my choice, nobody needed me. They wouldn't miss me at school either. But how could I do that to my parents? My dear loving parents who would sacrifice their week's meal just to keep me happy. But not anymore, they wouldn't have anybody to sacrifice anything to.
"They don't need you." said a little voice in my head. I didn't think, I just jumped. the last thing I remember is feeling the wind breeze through my hair as I jumped off the Empire State Building.

"Honey! Are you awake?" asked a very female voice.
"What? Huh? Who are you?" I asked groggily. My head was wrapped up in bandages, I had a neon green cast on my arm, an unknown asian woman was hovering over me. "Who are you?" I asked.
"Honey, you have a concussion, I'm your mom." she sighed.
"And I'm you dad." said a tall man coming in to the door. "The doctor said this would happen, he doesn't even remember us from the commercials." he seemed to joke.
"Who are you?" I repeated, hoping to get some names other than mom and dad, because they looked nothing like my parents, who are on the streets, begging for food.
"We're Mark Zuckerburg and Priscilla Chan. We adopted you last year, remember? You got into an accident with a taxi driver, but don't you worry, we will get to the bottom of this, what you need is rest. Okay?" said my dad, apparently, sitting me back down.
"Uh yeah, whatever, thank you, but I need to find my family." I muttered, getting out of bed, receiving a painful tube tugging at my head.
"Honey, we are your family, don't worry, your memory will come back soon. We just have to give you a brief overview of your past, and your memory should slowly come back." said Priscilla professionally.
"So we adopted your from Little Orphans Orphanage when you were ten, and then you got tested and they said you were a natural genius genetically so we sent you to Little Scientist Camp where you now own a million dollar website." explained Mark proudly. Of course none of this could have happened to me, but as he said it, it seemed like memories, of me, but not really me, were flowing back inside my body, and I had the impulse to jump in at parts where he didn't remember certain details.
"Actually it was Little Genius Camp." I answered, tempted to add the word Dad at the end of that sentence. Luckily, I caught myself just in time.

Dead Girl

When I found out that Devon was dead, I cried. As a football player, I don't cry very often. It's not something we football players do. Devon, was't my girlfriend, she was just an ordinary friend. She was pretty, but not hot. She was smart, but not cute. She was funny. I liked her, but not like that. When we were in middle school together, we played on the same soccer team. I had a crush on her back then. I became football captain and everything changed. Chicks started saying hi to me in the hallways and more and more people started wanting to be my friend. So, I quit soccer after a long debate. I still had a crush on Devon, but soon, I got a new girlfriend named Danielle. She was captain of the cheerleading team. I was happy for a couple of months, that is until Devon disappeared. I cried, in my bedroom of course, I can't throw everything away just for this dead girl, but I also couldn't just be happy while others mourned over her disappearance. I decided to make a memorial for her, that way to support the school, and add to my manly reputation at school. I was doing my homework at the kitchen table when suddenly, my phone started ringing.
"Hello?"
"Hey! What's up man? So about Devon.." said my best man Xavier.
"It's okay, I'm over it." I say.
"Good man, we need you A game for the big game on Friday night. Are you sure you're going to be okay? You guys were pretty close friends."
"Yeah, I told you, I'm fine." I said, hanging up. But, I wasn't. I grabbed my jacket and headed outside. Suddenly, just before I was leaving, the wind blew in a piece of paper. I picked it up. It was a letter. Without an envelope. I read it, and then called the police.

"It just flew in?" asked an officer.
"Yeah, like I told you." I said, a little annoyed.
"Just a routine follow-up." said the officer, shrugging.
"Yeah, well, when your house is a crime scene, it's hard not to be cranky." I said. Then, in a red skirt and a purple crop top, Danielle, my girlfriend walked up with two pom-poms in hand. She was followed by her posse, wearing matching cheerleading uniforms and cheering whenever they saw fit. I hated it. Danielle was captain of the cheerleading squad, and just as annoying as the others, but, she gave me an ego that I will have everlasting gratefulness for. She's sweet, but she's just not Devon. I almost cried at the thought.
"What's going on baby?" Danielle asked.
"Nothing." I lied.
"Okay, I'll call you okay? I just came over here to make sure you were okay." she said breathily. "Porcupines, away! We got our way, and now it's time to wait till payday! Go Porcupines!"She back hand sprung away. The rest of her clones followed her in suit.
"Good night Mr. Yu. Hope you get a good night's sleep. " said the cop as he drove away. I picked up the note once more. I had done this a hundred times already tonight. I just couldn't believe it.

"To bring me back, you'll have to lack, the popularity you seek, then take a peek, for around you I am there, to spread despair once more." -D

It was my third time reading it, and I still wanted to throw up. Suddenly, I heard the doorbell ring. Not again, more police? It was probably just a prank and someone's probably laughing their head off about my franticness right now. I considered not answering, but if I didn't, I would pay for it later. I trudged to the door and opened it.

"Hi, I'm Marcus. You should know that, but I don't suppose you remember  Did you got a flyer like this?" asked a boy about my age, in a british accent. He looked extremely familiar, almost like we had seen each other somewhere.
"Are you a police officer or.." I asked.
"I got a note too. You probably don't remember this, but we used to be best friends. We played soccer together with Devon." he said. Now that the little weasel said it, it did sound familiar.
"Then what happened?" I challenged.
"You became popular and I became a geek on steroids." He remarked.
"I don't believe you."
"Of course you don't."
"What did yours say?"
"Read it yourself, if you're smart enough." He spat as he handed me a flyer that looked so much alike to mine, I almost thought it WAS mine. It said:
"Home is where the heroes are, School is where the zeroes are. Don't let them get in your head, and meet me at the shed. It's better at midnight, and if I don't see a headlight, you won't be ripped right. " -D
"Well, I have to go, my parents will be home soon. I'll meet you in my backyard at ten till midnight, okay?" I say, realizing the hour.
"Yeah okay, whatever. Oh, you should also know, Teresa also got a note. She'll be here as well, tonight." said Marcus, just as he was leaving. I nodded. I liked Teresa. She was really nice, and she was part of the cheerleading squad. She was pretty and for a cheerleader, she wasn't shallow or obnoxious. I liked her a lot. We had science together and we would always be lab partners. It made sense that the pranker would have targeted Teresa too. Teresa and Devon were best friends. When she made it on the cheer squad, and I made it on the football team, we both left Devon to Marcus and pranced away with popularity. I hate myself for it. As I'm thinking about the horrible monster I am, I get a call from my phone. It's my mom. I don't know what possessed me to decline the call, but I did. A couple seconds later, I got a voicemail.
"Hi honey, sorry, Dad and I can't come home tonight. Ask Mrs. Welch next door to cook you something for dinner. We can't make it. There's a raging storm out here and all the roads are closed. Dad and I are very safe, you don't need to worry-" Suddenly, the voicemail stopped. I looked at my phone screen in confusion. There was still thirty seconds left in the recording. I touched the pause button, and then pushed the play button. The recording continued. I put the phone back to my ear again. This time, it wasn't my mom speaking on the phone, it max a computer female voice.
"When in doubt, scream and shout, I'll kill you if I have to. I choose to die, you chose to lie, I guess we make a team. -D" I could feel the shivers on my spine spreading to places that I should only know about. The voicemail with my mom's voice continued, but I didn't hear a word of it. That night, I laid on my back, thinking about D. Could it really be Devon? Or was it someone trying to mess with us? No matter what the situation was, I had to keep my head in the game. There was a big game on Friday and I was not about to let this stupid prank just shatter me to pieces. I sat up after what felt like forever in bed. I got out my laptop and started doing next week's homework and some plays for Friday. Suddenly, I got an email. Who could be sending an email at this hour?
"Ditch the game, and you will tame, the biggest monster of all, you can do it without a ball, I know this is hard, and I'm willing to wait, as long as you can date." -D. I frantically tried to reply to the sender. Maybe even see who it was. It was from the email address: noreply@nobody.com. Great.
"Okay, it's okay, everything will be okay. This isn't important, what's important is your grades, okay? This is just some obstacle being thrown your way." I mutter to myself. I open up HuluPlus and watch movies until my eyes get sore. Pretty soon, It's 11:40 and I start to head out of the house. I decided if I was going to meet Devon today, then I might as well look good. I grab my varsity jacket and some gray sweats. I grab my messenger bag stuffed with all the messages from D, and head out to my car.  I'm headed to the place the GPS leads me to, and I see a car. A car that's following me. I put the car in park and slam the door, adding to my gruffness.
"What do you think-" I stop. Nobody's there. Nobody's driving the car. The gears are all in shift and the car is in excellent condition. Yet, the seat is stone cold as I sit in it. Suddenly, the radio turns on.
"Here's a message out to a special fella out there, this one's from D." the announcer claims. I freeze in my tracks. I just know that this message is for me.
"When life gives you lemons, squeeze them until they die. Phew, what a feisty woman that is. Hope the fella that's out there learns his lesson, the next song up is Love Me Harder by-" the radio automatically turned off. This ghost-like behavior was not the thing that was creeping me out the most. Just as I was about to turn the radio on for more info, I see my precious car falling apart into pieces right in front of me. I scream. And then I take out my phone and search for Marcus's old contact and text him.
"SOS, D has sent me 4 messages in total. She made my car fall to pieces. She can turn the radio on without actually touching it. I'm scared. I can't drive to your house, I'm sorry. Meet me at my house for more details. " I text this to Teresa as well. Soon I get an okay from both of them. My footsteps crunched in the snow as I walked. My breath came out of my mouth as a puff of fog. The colorful lights of my house soon drew near. Outside, there were two cars. One, a Mercedes-benz, the other, a Toyota Corolla. Out stepped Teresa from the Mercedes and Marcus from the Toyota. Of course.
"Guys, D is seriously messing with me. She made my car break into pieces, she hacked my phone, she's driving a car where she isn't even in the driver's seat! D is a ghost!" I screamed. I loved my car. It wasn't much. I mean, it wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive either. It was a gray Volvo with a shiny new paint job. Because of D, it was now scrap metal. I took out my phone and texted my mom.
"Hey mom, someone's messing with me. They broke my car. It fell into pieces." I was just about to hit send when someone yanked my arm back.
"Are you frickin' crazy? She'll think you're crazy if you tell the truth! Say you crashed into a tree. It will make everybody's lives easier!" said Teresa distraught.
"Easy for you to say! You won't be grounded until you're twenty!" I said, horrified at the thought.
"Just do it, you'll thank me later." said Teresa firmly. I sighed. The girl was smart, I could trust her with my life, but I didn't know about this one. I finally gave in.
"Fine." I said, deleting my unsent message and sending the new bluff.
"Besides, it's only three years at the very most right?" asked Marcus. I scoffed and sent the message, waiting for the worst to happen.
"You made the right decision, for that I will reward you. There will be a new car in your driveway. Don't say I never did anything for you. -D" I get the text message a couple of seconds after I send the text to my mom.

It was the day I broke my arm. I understood everything now. But Devon was dead, how could anybody know? The day I broke my arm, it was Devon that tripped me. She got me to the hospital before I could tell the coach what happened.
"You never do anything for me!" I had said as the nurses wheeled me in. Pretty soon, the drugs took over and I slumped back into bed unconscious. Later, when the pain was under control, she came back in and fed me Chinese Takeout.
"Don't say I never did anything for you." she had warned.

The roaring of an engine had interrupted my thoughts. A big red mustang roared out. Again, nobody was driving it. Of course, Teresa and Marcus were scared out of their wits. I, was used to it.
"Is that how the car that was following you was presented?" asked Teresa, shivering from the scare.
"Yeah." I said, shrugging it off.
"Sick car dude!" said a booming voice behind me. I automatically recognized it as Xavier's voice.
"Uh yeah, my parents just got it for me after I crashed my car into a tree." I said as calmly as I could.
"Hey! Teresa! Wassup? Miss me?" joked Xavier jogging up to a Teresa that was trying to sneak in.
"Yo' watcha doing with the geek on steroids? You know it's not good for your ego man." continued Xavier. I could see Marcus trying as hard as he could to not respond.
"Um, what are you'd doing here?" I asked as nonchalantly as I could.
"Just looking for you man, you know checking up on you, making sure you're not doing anything you're not supposed to do. You know, man, you go down, and we both go down. Where you at brother?" I gave him a chest bump.
"Alright, I'm fine, you can go home man."
"All you gotta do is say so." he said as he walked away. I climbed into the Mustang with excitement.

Lisa (Prequel for Lifeless Eyes Lisa's Part)

I walk back from school with all my friends. Life is good, I have a happy family, a happy life at school and I have straight As and I lead a happy life. What could possibly happen to make my life bad? I'm walking up my porch when I feel a tap on my shoulder. It's Jeremy again.
"Lisa! Hey What's up! What are you doing here?" He asks loudly. Very loudly.
"Uh, this is my front porch. What are you doing here?" I ask quizzically.
"I was waiting for you to come back. So, I could ask you something."
"Okay, shoot."
"So you know the Springtime Formal is coming up right?"
"Uh yeah." My friends and I have only been talking about it for the last three weeks.
"Are you going with someone?"
"Uh, yeah, you know I have a boyfriend, Jeremy."
"I was kind of hoping you would be over with that doofus by now."
"Um, yeah no." I said as I opened the door and walked in. Was Jake really a doofus? Ah, typical Lisa, always insecure about her life. Jake was everything. He was cute, smart, funny and really nice. What could go wrong with him? I set my backpack on the kitchen table and got out a bottle of orange juice from the fridge. I heard the doorbell go off. Ugh, can't that clown take no for a answer? I dragged my feet and opened the door. It was Jake.
"Uh, hey." He was holding a bouquet of roses.
"I was wondering if you would go to the dance with me." He said, down on one knee. See what I mean? After school, he automatically drives to my house and gives me roses. He's so romantic.
"Of course, Jakey. Who else would I go with?" I say; wrapping my arms around him. He stands up and hands me the flowers.
"Hey babe, what are you wearing? it would be nice if we could match." he says sweetly.
"Ugh, you guys make me sick." spat Jeremy from the porch next to ours. He's sitting on a hammock and staring at us with intent eyes.
"Shut up." Jake said as he picked me up and carried me inside. He slammed the door shut behind him and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.
"So, what are you wearing?" He asked. I giggled.
"Obviously I don't have one yet. I have to go buy one first."
"Then I'll go with you."
"I don't know Jake, it's more of something you of with your girlfriends than something you do with your boyfriend."
"Will then you'll be the exception." he whispered as he tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Okay, you can come, it's this Saturday, we meet at the mall at 2:00." I say.
"I'll pick you up at 1:30." he says as he walks out the door. We've been dating for months now, but I still get breathless. I calm down and grab a banana. I'm watching Pretty Little Liars when I get a text from Melissa, my best friend. Unlike my other friends, she's here because she likes me, not my popularity. I reach for my phone.

So, word is that Jake is taking you to the dance, Score!
I smile she knew that, who else would Jake take? He is my boyfriend.
Obvi. He's my boyfriend. Why is this weird again? I text back. In a second, I get a text back.
Because he's hot, that's why. I can't wait till Saturday. Leon says that my dress has to be silver to match his suit. I don't think silver's a good color on me, I am even more surprised at the notion of a silver suit, he is going to look so funny. What do you think?
Honey, you look gorge in anything. About Saturday, Jake might be coming with us. I hear my mom come home from work. gtg bi. I put down my phone.
"Watcha doing?" My mom asked, putting down her bag.
"Oh, nothing much. Just getting ready to shop for the dance. We're going on Saturday. Do you mind?" I asked.
"Yeah. No problem sweetie. Do you wanna help me with the vegetables?"
"Uh yeah, sure." I say getting up.

The days that led up to Saturday were long and boring. When Saturday morning finally arrived, I almost screamed with joy. I slept in till 9 and then browsed around on the internet for the kind of dress I want. At ten, I thought it was enough of stalling and walked to my closet in my enormous sweatpants and huge T-shirt. I picked out skinny long-sleeved t-shirt from Aeropostale, some skinny jeans from American Eagle, a pair of magenta ballet flats from Style Co., and a leather jacket that I got from some store in Europe. I put a couple of curls in my hair and grabbed a Louis Vuitton silver handbag and marched out the front door.
"Where are you going, honey?' My mom asked, getting herself ready for work. "I thought you didn't have to go till later."
"Um, yeah. Change in plans I guess." I lied. I knew I couldn't coop myself in the house and wait. I decided to take a drive, maybe do something.
"Okay! Just be home by 6! We're having tacos for dinner." my dad screamed as I walked out the door. Oh classic dad. He knows I hate tacos. I slip into my car and drive away. Now where to go? I drive to McDonalds and buy myself a Egg McMuffin and a cup of coffee. I was excited, but still hungry. After I finished eating, I drove to the mall. It was 10:59. I strolled into the food court and then sat down. I don't know how long I was playing on my phone, but it seemed like a while before I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Hey! What are you doing here? I thought we were meeting here with Sara and Jenna at 1. Did I get the time wrong?" asked a confused Melissa. As usual, she looks stunning. She has a tank top on with a crop gray sweater and worn ripped skinny jeans with rolled down tall uggs.
"Uh, yeah. Couldn't wait I guess. You're here early too." I say, stretching. I must have sat in that chair longer than I thought.
"What do you mean? It's 12:58. I'm just two minutes early." she asks, confused again. Oh. I sat in that chair for two hours? Huh.
"What? Yeah. Let's go then. Where are Sara and Jenna?" I ask, trying to change the topic.
"They're coming, they said to meet us at Sixteen and Soon. Let's hurry up." said Melissa as she pulled me to the storefront. There, Sara and Jenna were standing there leaning on the wall.
"OMG you look gorge, this place is amaze, I think your fab!" squealed Sara. Yep, that's Sara, she likes to scream a lot and gush about stuff. Okay, yeah, she exactly like the rest of us.
"Do you want to find the perf dress or not? Let's get a move on." said an exasperated Jenna. We all walked inside Sixteen and Soon. It had dresses, but not the type of dress you would wear to a formal dance. I walked to Gorgeous Girls Galore which is a stupid store name, but it's the type of store that would sell formal dresses that aren't that bad. As it turns out, it was the right store after all.

Sky (Prequel to Lifeless Eyes Sky's part)

Sky

Overbearer

All around me, glittering jewel-like pieces cover the ground. Everything destroyed. They must know the Carving Glass cannot be broken, but they’ll never find it, not when it’s with the Agency.
“Sky!” Jared calls behind me, “Everyone knows that it’s the pack of 3, that one werewolf, the alpha, who infected a couple of his friends. We’ve been trying to track them down for several years. The worst thing is, their ‘bout the same age as us, not those bulky adults we’ve been getting at. Maybe one day, one of us will find them and get them. They’ve already killed two of our Hunters, and their being labeled a 40-star.”
“So you have to be a 40-star Hunter in order to hunt ‘em?” I ask, my eyes wide,”Where’d you get all this info?”
“Yesterday, I overheard one of the Trainers talk about ‘em. That’s why they sent us here to investigate.”
“Sure, well I sure do smell werewolf, especially here.” I point to the tooth, yellowed and pointy.
“I guess so, we should put the tooth in the evidence bags, maybe this can give us extra points for the star-level test you’re taking at the end of this month.”
“It’s only the 30-star test.”
“Yeah, the 30-star test that’s as difficult as the 100-star one!”
“You amuse me.”
“You amuse me!”
I laugh a bit, “Us 9-year-olds joking around on an assignment. We really shouldn’t.”
“Yeah, let’s go back.”

At the Agency, Dr. Brelack is waiting. His stern look reminds me of my failures, that one assignment where I couldn’t find anything……… Well, at least this time we found a tooth, and with some DNA testing, they can find who it was.
Jared hands over the evidence bag, bows his head in silence, and scurries in the building, I do the same, and I follow him to the Training Room. This large expanse of at least one acre included an half of an olympic-size swimming pool,  martial arts platforms, dummies, sticks, swords, nunchucks, and punching bags. In the far corner, a domed passageway, 50 feet long loomed. Inside, everything could be controlled and tracked with buttons, dials, and switches on the “control panel” on the outside

The ground has a smell of fresh apples as I am sprawled across on it. I try to stay perfectly still and limp and imagine the wind carrying me to freedom, with the smell of apples, of course. It feels amazing to have nothing stopping me, nobody teasing me, nobody speaking to me.
Suddenly, I smell a rich smell of cologne mixed with wet paper embedded with the fresh and beautiful smell of apples. Oh no. It’s Stuart and his pack of boys. They’ve come to bother me again. This time though, I don’t run. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still afraid, but for the first time in my life, I’m lazy, I’m as lazy as a sleep-deprived teenager would be.
“Hey Linda! Shouldn’t you be at dorkasaurus camp or something?” barked Stuart from the head of his pack. I hear hoots of laughter from behind him. For a second, I think about slapping him. Luckily, I think twice, and run instead. Someone grabs the edge of my hood and yanks me back.
“Scaredy-cat, where are you going Lina?” snarled Hank.
“Stop teasing her, let’s steal our apples and get it over with.” swaggered Sam. I didn’t want to admit it, but, I sort of had a crush on Sam. It was a natural feeling really, every girl did. He had his cute wavy brown hair, and he had his sweet, bad boy personality that was both aggravating and endearing.
“It’s Lisa, and please let me go, it really hurts.” I squeaked pathetically.
“Oh yeah? Just because you said that, I’m going to take you with us on our little trip.” snickered Hank.
“Don’t! We have an assignment, we can’t take her! Unless you’re planning to change her, which, you better not.” screamed Rachel, who was the sister of Stuart, therefore making her automatically part of their pack.
“Shut up little girl, I don’t need you to smart mouth me, I’m taking her, she can still go, she won’t always be with us.” Hank snapped back.
“Rachel, you know better than to challenge Hank, you know he’s hard headed and stubborn, the more you tell him not to, the more he’ll just dig his heels in deeper.” snorted Stuart.
“Fine, so we take her, can we hurry up, forget about the apples, let’s board the bus before we miss it.” said Sam. Hank gruffly shoved me into a seat in the back of the deserted bus. It might have been my imagination, but the pack formed a wall in front of me to block my view. It was then, that I decided to speak up.

Sky
The moon is a reddish-orange hue. Drifts of dark, purple clouds litter the sky. The air is still. The entire field is spread out in front of me, as if it was made to be explored. As I sprint across, the crunch of the frost under my feet breaks the serene silence.
Out of the corner of my eye, I spot a smudge of color. Judging by the light brown, it’s a deer. Carefully, I retrieve my dagger, a handy little thing, and in one quick, swift movement I drive it into the deer. It falls onto its knees and gives one last glassy look before dropping down.
I used to hate killing animals, the smell of rotting flesh and the agonizing wail, but I have no choice now, not with my assignment.
Sometimes I wonder if this would become another version of Twilight, my story, combined with a book I just used to love so much.
Ha, can’t go back to the old luxuries. The best luxury right now, that would be the deer. Roast venison steak topped with dried herbs and a hint of salty sea water.
I take out the crinkled assignment paper, and smooth out the edges. I read it one last time.

Minnesota, ugh, so far away, and I have to stay hidden. It would be so, so much easier if I hitch-hiked or bought a bus ticket, or even hopped on a plane. But my job required patience, time, and extreme physical sacrifices. Even sacrificing yourself, your own life, who you are, just for this.
Sacrificing everything you know, everything you had….. for someone that doesn’t care, doesn’t even blink when you cry out to him. Doesn’t feel, and doesn’t exist. I hate him.
Deal with it Sky, you’re nothing but a piece of crap compared to all the other things he has. Deal with it..
I hate this. I hate everything. Why am I doing this. Why did I even care for him, that filthy savage. That…...that monster of a man. He wasn’t even a man, he wasn’t manly enough for me, he wasn’t-
I cry.

“Where are you taking me?” I asked. I wasn’t afraid of the answer, I didn’t mind, anything was better than home. Home, was where Dad was dead, and his cologne lingered in the room, Home was where my depressed mother abused me. Home was where I had to stop my hare-brained mother from committing suicide, she would hit me everytime  tried to stop her, but that’s okay, I love her anyways.
“Camp Huronomo. Why? Do you want to call your mother to let her know you’ll be gone for awhile?” asked Sam kindly. I guess it was just too much for me to bear. before I knew it, hot tears started streaming down my cheeks. Sam took me to the bus’s bathroom before anyone could see me. At first I thought it was an act of kindness, bit as it turns out, it was an act of concern.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” asked Sam.
“No, I’m fine. Besides, why do you care? Your life is perfect, every single girl in the school wants to date you, you have a perfect and normal, loving family, and you have a lot of friends, how would you even know how it feels to be hunted down, to be the odd one out?” I screamed in anger.
“Maybe I do.” replied Sam, obviously amused.
“No, No you don’t.” I cried, calming down.
“It will feel better if we talk about it, I promise.” coaxed Sam.
“So what are you now? My therapist?” I mocked. I was scared, here I was, with everyone’s sweetheart, screaming at him, that’s not the part I was scared the most of though, I’m not exactly a loud person, you see, and here I was, fearless, brave, the exact opposite of Lisa VonSchnitzel.
“Exactly, now spill.” I sighed, I give up. He was just too darn persuasive.
“My dad died and now my mom is depressed and slapping me every chance she gets, she wants to commit suicide, but I won’t let her and she’s really mad at me, she’s bearable now, but she keeps on getting angrier and angrier and one day I’m afraid I won’t be able to contain her.” I whispered, getting softer and softer toward the end of my story.
“Put her into a mental hospital, make everyone safe.” said Sam while leaning back casually like he just solved the problem.
“But I love her, and I can’t bear to see her there, trapped, I can bear abuse, I can bear hunger, I just can’t bear to see her there.” I said as I started to sob. Then, he did the most unexpected thing, and hugged me. He was cautious, but firm.
“I promise I’ll help you.” whispered Sam.
“I don’t need your help-” I started.
“Too late, I already promised.” said Sam breezily as he faintly smiled. “Now let’s go back before they notice that we’re gone.”
“I promise to protect you.” muttered Sam so softly, I thought I imagined it. I looked up wonderingly. “Let’s go.” he said, holding the door for me.

The deer reminds me of all the lifeless eyes I have stared into. The desperate grab at their wound before they collapse into a pile of cold flesh. Killing has became part of me. Maybe I have no good heart in me anymore, all the kills I’ve done, probably seeped into my bones and stayed there.
I can now kill without feeling.

The faint smell of Frosty approaches. Ugh, that boy that thinks he’s so much better than everyone else, like he’s the only one with 45 stars on his agent status. I too, have 45 stars.
“Hey Skyler-Tyler. How ya doing on this dark Ohio night? Enjoyin’ the stars?” Frosty remarks, grinning like the retarded idiot he is.
“It’s Sky. I’m doing fine, Frosty, now you know where I am, so go report back to Dr. Brelack.”
“I…… I wasn’t sent here to do a progress check, y’know.” he fidgets his feet nervously and eyes the dead deer, “Can I have some venison steak, I know yeh have the best venison steak in the agency.”
“Frosty, I don’t know what to tell you, get out.”
“I’m Frost.”
“Frosty, I’m not making up with you and you certainly are not gonna become my friend or any form of a friend.”
“But yer so isolated from ev’ry’un else, I feel like I should join yeh here t’night.”
“I want you to leave. NOW.” I yell, “If you have no reason to come, then GO.”
“Sky, I-”
“Go.”
“SKY! I’ll tell yeh ok?”
“Spit it out,”
“Sky, Sky, I love you.”
This was Jared all over again, saying that they love you, and then leaving you far in the dust during the next opportunity.
“Frosty, get out.” I reply, but I am drained out of my ferociousness.
“Sky, it’s not that either, but I’m about to die.”

The bus breezed by a million different towns with the lights a blur I was sitting next to Sam, with a wall of space between us. He sat with his hands folded in his lap. I sat with my feet crossed and my hands holding up my head.
“The bus has a basketball court in the back, the boys and I want to play, you in?” asked Stuart peeking his head into our compartment.
“Sorry, I would love to, but I have to keep an eye on this one.” smiled Sam playfully.
“Suit yourself, I’m gonna cream the boys.” Stuart left the compartment.
“I won’t cause any trouble, you can go play basketball, I’ll just stay here, and be a wallflower. I’m really good at doing that.” I replied earnestly staring up at Sam.
“Nah, I would much rather spend the time with you.” said Sam, sitting back down. I didn’t even notice he stood up. Sam blushed. This was the first time that Sam ever seemed embarrassed, or human, for that matter. There was always something different about Stuart and his pack, I could never put my thumb on it, now that I think about it, they always seemed too connected, too obedient, too beautiful-. Sam interrupted my thoughts by shoving me into a seat. He leaned over me. I was scared.
“Don’t continue that thought.” growled Sam dangerously. I drop of spit flew down and landed on my arm.  I don’t know if it was my imagination or not, but my arm started burning up, then, as soon as it started, it stopped.
“Y-You know what I’m thinking?” I asked breathlessly. I wasn’t scared anymore, I was dazed.
“No.” he replied standing up. “I’m going to play basketball.” he rigidly strode out of the room, leaving my heart pounding.

The only reason I came to Sky was because I needed to tell her before it was too late. Every since I came to the agency as a little 9-year-old, I had always had a crush on the girl who was only just a few months younger than me. Despite that, she had always taken care of me. But things turned sour when Jared, the love of her life abandoned her and the agency for a chance to be a normal teen. She was thirteen then. Now it’s a year later and it seems like she has forgotten that I was ever her friend, that I was there when she ran into obstacles and stepped on spikes.
Back at the agency, new children were brought in very rarely. The Choosers were very picky about who was to be kidnapped or chosen from orphanages and foster care, maybe even rescued from homelessness.
From what I heard, Sky was found as a baby floating in the sewage system underground in the city of New York. Usually, the baby is brought upon an orphanage, or put upon a doorstep, and then the Choosers watch them carefully, seeing if they are good material for the agency. But in this case, they brought Sky directly to the agency and trained her ever since she was little. Tobi, one of the most strict Trainers said the Choosers found something special in her DNA or whatever. Well, I don’t believe a word Tobi said, I just think that they wanted to test out training a child ever since they were a baby, and if that worked better than whisking the children away when they were older and showing valid potential.
But Sky is still the best Hunter, the youngest one to earn 45 stars, the youngest one in the Hunter section of the agency, the one with the most experience, and the only one that mastered every single test every given out by the Trainers and Star-Givers.

When Sam and the pack got back, they were all sweaty and smelly.
“We’re almost there. Are you ready?” asked Stuart. It was the first time Stuart voluntarily talked to me without being mean, I suspect it had something to do with Sam.
“Um, No?” I answered questionly.
“It’s nothing to worry about really, not when Sam is your protector.” answered Jared.
“Protector?”  I asked cluelessly.
“Oh crap, I said too much, I’m so sorry Sam, I didn’t mean to-” apologized Jared. Sam cut him off.
“Lisa, come here, I need to tell you something.” said Sam gruffly. I gladly followed him, I needed answers, and I knew that Sam was going to spill.

}8{
Jared

Lisa is part of the pack. Sam is Lisa’s protector. Great. I’ll have to leave another girl I love. Well, Sky is an exception, she probably thinks I left to have a family and go to school, instead of the agency. Well, I did it to join the pack, and it certainly wasn’t my fault. Joining was entirely Stuart’s fault. He bit me. Ew.
Well, Lisa is kinda pretty, maybe, a little bit. I should have made a move, before Sam could whisk her away. I needed to act now, before it was really too late.

}9{
Sam

I loved Lisa before I even marked her. Yes, I had to love her now, but even if I had a choice, I would have made her part of the pack anyway. When I marked her, I felt my heart urge to sacrifice my arm instead of hers. Sure, it was only a small burn, and yes, it could be worse, but that’s not the point, as soon as I laid eyes on her, I knew that I would love her forever. The problem is however, two hours ago, Jared told me that he would make Lisa his wife. I had the smarts not to tell Jared that I marked on her and that I loved her too. When Stuart told Jared, I knew that Jared was going to bust a fur, that’s slang for “turn into a werewolf.” Yes, we are werewolves, no questions please, it’s just too complicated. When I pulled Lisa over, I wasn’t going to give any answers, she can’t know that we’re werewolves, I’ll lose my true love forever

}10{
Rachel

Lisa was beautiful, I’ll give her that. But, to steal my Sam right under my nose? No. Sam was just starting to like me, and then she comes along and ruins everything. Jared is also falling all over her. I thought I still had a chance until Sam walked in the basketball court in the  middle of our game. He told us he marked Lisa, and then followed up by saying he loved her and planned to marry her. I thought Stuart, the alpha of our pack, would banish Sam from our pack for marking a human, and then loving her. To my surprise, (and anger) Stuart patted Sam on the back and continued to crush us all in basketball. That Lisa better watch her back when I’m around. The most aggravating thing, the fact that being part of Stuart’s pack, I can’t touch her. I hate being a werewolf.

}11{

Lisa was so beautiful, so grown up, I hate to physically abuse her, but she won’t let me commit suicide and do what I need to do, and she always comes into the room when I’m having one of my temper tantrums, and when I can’t control myself. I’m so sorry my dear Lisa, I love you too. I know why you ran away, and I don’t blame you, you loved me too much to send me to a mental hospital, and now that you’re gone, I’m going to heaven with your dad. I love you, my sweetheart, I love you to the moon and back, I can’t even say how much I wish I could see you one last time. I’m taking a photo of you to heaven with me, I hope you don’t mind, I love you. If you ever think about it, Your dad and I will welcome you in heaven. I love you so much. I love you, I love you. You’re going to become and independent strong lady, and marry a dashing man. I love you, Lisa. I love you.

When I read the letter, my heart flipped. My mom had loved me after all. She had committed suicide and I wasn’t even there to see her one last time. I folded it up and put it in my pocket before I could burst into tears. I would read the rest of the letter in private later. I folded it up and slipped it in my pocket.
“Why were you in my house?” I demanded to Sam after I had blinked the tears away.
“Once I promise something, I do it. I packed your bags so that you could come to live with me and the pack.” replied Sam.
“What?! So my mom committed suicide because of you?”
“No! Of course not, I saw the letter when I came into your house, she was already gone then.”
“How’d you even get there so fast? I was always with you until you were in the basketball game, There’s no way you could run over to my house and then come back without missing a beat.”
“It’s a long story.”
“Well I have time.”
“No you don’t, someone wants to see you.” I turn around to see Rachel, glaring at me from a distance.
“I must speak with you Lisa Vonshintizel.” said Rachel robotically. “Give us a moment will you?” Sam hesitantly left.
“Oh, dear, dear Lisa, what are we going to do with you?” asked Rachel mockingly. I knew automatically that this wasn’t a good sign, I just didn’t know why.
“Are you okay?” I asked pathetically.
“Of course I’m okay, I’m perfectly fine. Anyways, let’s cut to the chase. I want you to back off and let me and Sam do our own thing without you interfering.” snapped Rachel.
“What do you mean? I’m not stopping you and Sam from doing anything.” I said, confused.
“Whatever, the alpha forbids of us to speak it, so I won’t, just watch your back.” she said as she flipped her beautiful blonde hair and strutted away.

I hated myself. I understood now. I understood everything. I know why Sam would choose Lisa over me. Lisa had her long straight black hair, and her endearing manner, I had good looks yes, but what else was behind me? That’s right, coldness. I always thought I was protecting myself by putting everyone else down, it worked for a while, and I was never really scared of anybody, that was until Stuart bit me, and things changed, sort of. I was still cold, but I was afraid of more things, like getting found out, or the Stuart would banish me from the pack. I hate myself. I hate myself for ruining things with Sam, yes I ruined it, not that hare-brained human, which I have other excuses to hate. Me. I ruined it by having that talk to Lisa. Sam heard every word of it. Us werewolves have the power to read minds of all the wolves in our pack, I had forgotten about that since I just changed a month ago, I had forgotten. Now Sam knows everything and my life and dreams are ruined.

I knew Rachel had a crush on me, but I didn’t think she would take it that far, she asked me to step out of the room, which I thought was peculiar, so I turned on my mind-reading powers. I could hear her trying to vague and specific at the same time. I knew this would be awkward. But whatever happens, I’ll never stop loving Lisa, she’s just so beautiful. Did I mention that?

I had found my assignment at last. Big bold letters spelling out “Camp Huronamo” carved into the wood. A few sad-looking brochure boxes nailed underneath it. I took a brochure. It’s some random wilderness camp with barbecues and forest trails.
My nose takes in the faint scent of werewolf. They are here. Good. Their scent is strong…. THERE. I see them, chatting amongst themselves. I take out my dagger, my sword, and my mouth-shotgun. I stick the mouth-shotgun in between my teeth and approach them. When I get within a few yards, I sprint in the middle, and am just about to slice through their bodies like swiss cheese when I see Jared.
I see Jared.
I see Jared.
Why is Jared here.
Why is he a werewolf.
Why was I about to kill him.
How did he get here.
This must be an illusion.
I must be dreaming.
I must be dead.
I still love him.
I still need him.
But he lied.
I still love him.

}16{
Jared

I see Sky. Why is she here? She’s not supposed to see me like this. She still stayed in the agency? At least she tried to stop murdering us, I’ll ask Stuart to give me a raise in rankings. After all, I saved the pack’s butts out there. Realizing what almost happened, Stuart changed into a wolf and attacked Sky. Not realizing what I was doing, I changed and  stood in front of her with my paws up in the air, ready to attack. Stuart wasn’t impulsive, after all these years, he has learned to find control when in his wolf form. He gave me a questioning look. When I had realized what I had just done, I moved to the side and motioned to Stuart to continue.
“I’m so sorry Sky.” I whispered softly. Stuart, enraged, charged at Sky with his teeth ready to bite. Sky acted quickly as her training taught her to do, and took out her dagger and stabbed Stuart in the shoulder, this was enough for Stuart to change back into a human and wince in pain. I wasn’t worried though, us werewolves heal fast, like a minute, fast.
“Damn it,  she got me good.” sighed Stuart resignedly.
“It’s okay, she’s gone now.” I answered.
“But she’ll be back.” replied Stuart grimly. “And we best be prepared.”

}17{
Lisa

My head throbs. We’re here on camp, and I’m sharing a cabin with Sam. I don’t understand anything that’s going on, the last time I saw Stuart, I could have sworn I saw a cut in his shoulder heal in a second. Those are the hints that you’re finally going crazy. After we eat dinner, Jared tells me to come with him to the woods. I went, not like I was expecting much, but I was mostly just curious. I followed him into the woods until we reached a small cottage.
“Aww, it’s darling.” I gushed. Jared put his arm around me and brought his lips to my forehead. I froze in surprise. Suddenly an arrow flew by me, barely missing the end of my nose. Jared crouches down into a protective position, and out of nowhere, Sam flies in, with the same position that Jared is in. I’m scared. Suddenly, a girl with her brown-red hair pulled into a braid appears in the clearing. She’s beautiful even with tears in her eyes. Sam gives Jared a meaningful look and pulls me away from the two and into the cottage. It’s so cute inside, with little furniture and mini pottery. This enough to distract me from the near-death experience I had. Sam sits down in a chair and I sit down with him. Suddenly, he puts his arm around me. Without meaning to, I lay my head on his shoulder.
“How did you know to come?” I whispered, hoping he could hear me.
“I-I can’t tell you.” muttered Sam. I’m just about to protest when the girl that almost killed me bursts into the room. She has mascara dripping down her face and she is soon followed by Jared.
“You! You ruined my life, and your alpha? You can tell him to drop dead!” sobbed the girl as she stomped off.
“I ruined her life? Why are so many people saying that to me?” I asked, confused while slowly sinking back into my chair.
“Sorry Lisa, that was Sky, my ex-girlfriend, she’s just a little surprised to see me, that’s all.” explained Jared apologetically. I suddenly remember the kiss. And everything that came with it.

}18{
Sky

I was surprised. Jared still loved me, and he was a werewolf, but most of all, he risked his life for me, that is until he realized what he was doing. I think that’s what hurt me the most, the fact that he wanted to, and was going to, but just realized that he shouldn’t. I decided on my most dangerous and hard decision yet, I was going to kill Jared. I followed him into the woods with a pretty girl about my age. I wasn’t jealous, I thought that he was doing something with her or something. It never entered my head that Jared loved somebody else now. He put his arm around her and then kissed her on her forehead. That’s when I guess I was impulsive, I was so fast, i didn’t aim right and just missed her. At that point, I realized that there was no point in hiding the fact that I tried to kill her, so I stepped out from my hiding place. There Jared looked surprised, and out of nowhere, Sam flew in like a bird. They were both in a stance that seemed to protect the girl. I knew I was outnumbered. With the training the Jared got, and the muscles that Sam had, I had no trouble figuring out who was going to win. Sam seemed to know what was going on and led the human inside. As soon as she was out of earshot, I rounded on Jared.
“I thought you loved me, I thought you left the agency to be a real teenager.” I accused.
“What was I supposed to do Sky? Tell you everything? You were hunting them! How could I say that I was what you were hunting?” said an enraged Jared.
“I thought you loved me.” I said as I felt tears pool in my eyes, making my vision all blurry.
“Things change Sky.” said Jared, not meeting my eyes. I finally saw how it was.
“Fine. Be an obnoxious little-. And after all I did for you! You could have told me! I would have quit the agency and we could be werewolves together!”
“You don’t understand do you? I didn’t want to be with you! I was tired of always being number two, I was tired of your personality, Sky, I volunteered to be out of the agency, I volunteered to not be with you. I need you to go hunt other werewolves and leave my pack alone.”
“I want to be with you Jared. You’re just angry. I’m so sorry. I love you. My love is unconditional.” I begged.
“No. Get out before I really get angry.” said Jared without a quaver in his voice.
“It’s her isn’t it? You love her now eh?” I asked with tears streaming angrily from my face.
“Yes, I love Lisa now.” sighed Jared. I was angry. I stomped into the room and screamed. I screamed and said everything I could about all the things that took Jared away from me. Then, I left.

Okay, so I still had feelings for Sky, I loved Lisa even more. It hurt me more than I thought it would to refuse Sky, I knew I had to tell her no somehow, I just wish she would take the truth the way I wanted her to. I sighed. Great. What a situation! At least I still have hope in marrying Lisa, I think. Unless Sam already claimed her, which in a way he did, but if he’s her protector, that doesn’t mean they have to be together, he can just be her protector. That means I still have a chance. I thought about this situation as I slowly walked to my cabin. I forgot how exhausted I was after the excitement of meeting Sky and Lisa and stuff. Ahh, girl troubles.
“What do you think you’re doing?” asked gruff voice. “She’s mine, deal with it, I already marked her. “
“Oh Sammy boy, you know that she’s going to pick me. And hasn’t your mother ever told you to not snoop in someone else’s cabin?” I said coldly.
“She’ll pick you? Is that what you just said? Haha that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all day. It’s my right to protect who I love, and it’s my right to protect who I mark. You seemed capable of hurting, so I did my job and found out more about you. You’re fine for now, but I’ll be back.” And with that, Sam walked out of the room. I sighed and fell onto the bed.

I try to remake my time in the apple orchards by lying in the dirt, but it just isn’t the same. It doesn’t smell like apples, it smells like death. The truth hits me like a ton of boulders. My mother is dead, my father is dead. I’m alone. I feel tears welling up in my eyes. I reach into my pocket and feel the piece of paper and pull it out. I read the rest of the letter, and within the second line, I’m crying. I hear a zip, and Sam is laying down next to me, putting his arm around me for comfort.
“It’s okay, you’re not alone, it’s okay, I’m still here, I promise to be there when you need me.” he whispers.
“I-I love you.” I whisper, not thinking he can hear me. But he does.
“I love you too.” he says back.

I hear the faint tingle in my gut saying that Lisa is somewhere, and she needs my help. I arrived as soon as I could, and when I’m there, I’m relieved to see that she isn’t in danger, but just crying. I lay down next to her and put my arm around her.
“It’s okay, you’re not alone, it’s okay, I’m still here, I promise to be there when you need me.” I whisper.
“I-I love you.” Lisa whispers. My heart pounds. I wasn’t expecting this.
“I love you too.”

I sense happiness in Sam’s mind, and I’m scared to find out why. Sam and I were actually pretty good friends, that is before I fell in love with Lisa. I finally got the final brainwave. Lisa said it. She loves Sam. I crumple to my knees and sit on the grass. I need to hunt. I change and without knowing what I’m doing, I find Sam. Sam is sitting on a rock, gazing out into space. I charge for him and claws scratch his shoulder. he growls in anger, less than pain, and changes into a wolf. I didn’t think this through, Sam is two times bigger than me and three times as strong. I did the first thing I could and ran away. In triumph, Sam changed back and smirked.
I hate him.
But I love Lisa.
But I still have feelings for Sky.
I still want to be a part of the pack.
Sam has a big influence, he’s the Beta.
But I love Lisa.

I’m walking back from lying down in the dirt, I am as happy as a wolf that just found a sliver of water in the desert. Sorry I’m know I sound corny and stuff the happiness is just too satisfying. I sit on a rock and gaze into space. It’s beautiful. Just like Lisa. I was giddy. I heard a growl and before I could turn around, I felt a stabbing pain in my shoulder. I changed into my wolf form in anger. I was about to attack when Jared backed up and ran away. I changed back and smirked in the fact that he was a coward and afraid of me. Jared, keep on running, Lisa hates cowards. She loves me.
She loves me.
She loves me.
Jared hates me.
She loves me.
Tomorrow I will ask Lisa out.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight, not a footprint to be seen, a kingdom of isolation, and it looks like, I’m the queen. The wind is howling like a swirling storm inside, couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I tried. I hiked up Mount Everest after Jared broke up with me again. It was on top of mountains, that I could think straight. The bigger the problem, the higher the mountain I needed. This, I figured, was going to be my ultimate problem.
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see, be the good girl you always have to be, conceal don’t feel don’t let them know, well now they know. I don’t know why, but that song always comforted me in a way, there was always something that I didn't get from the song, an answer to my problem. Today was not an exception, I figured it out. I would need someone to pretend to be my boyfriend, that way to show Jared that I moved on. Knowing Jared, he would come running back to me and we become werewolves together. But who to choose as my fake boyfriend? I continued the song. Let it go. let it go. Can’t hold it back anymore! I got it! Frozen was about the cold right? Wouldn’t Frost be perfect?

}25{
Frost

Sky asked me out. Sort of. She wanted me to be her fake boyfriend so that Jared would come running back for her. This is my chance, if I can show Sky what a great boyfriend I would be, then she’ll refuse Jared and Sky and I sail away on a romantic honeymoon, skipping the wedding because we’d be hunting werewolves together, and we live happily ever after. To prepare for this, I asked my friend who owns all the agency files, to bring up Sky’s file. If I can figure out what she likes in a guy, then I’ll be all set. It doesn’t say much in her file, she was very careful not to include things that would help track her down. It does have a diary though. I took the diary and returned the rest of the files back to the desk manager. I took it back to my room which is a big one, considering what others have. Its walls are blue and it has a queen sized bed pushed to the corner, it has a mahogany desk cluttered with papers and photos of Sky, and I have a big red carpet in the middle with pillows and bean bags for reading. When I was friends with Sky, we used to sit on the beanbags and read stories together. She used to say my room was heaven compared to hers. Now look at her, her room is an exotic loft with a whole entire wall covered in glass, she used to be a happy person, but ever since Jared left, she has been moody and has spent most of her time at her desk analyzing files and records about werewolves. I sit on my favorite bean bag and open up the diary. It’s a regular leather-bound book without a lock. The people at the agency aren’t very nosy about these things, they believe the time to read a diary would be better spent training or killing werewolves. I open it up and I see drawings of Jared etched into the first page. It looked like Sky kept on going back and retracing the picture after she lightly sketched it. I knew Sky drew things like pictures of werewolves, but I never noticed that she was that great of an artist, in the agency, art is discouraged and prohibited. I turn to the next page and that’s where the first entry starts. All it says is that Jared got her this diary and she plans to use it for things and such. She also mentions all the things that she loves about Jared. That’s where my eyes hit paper and I start reading like a maniac. If I can be exactly like Jared, then Sky will fall in love with me exactly like she did with Jared. But I might need more than that, I got it! I’ll recreate the scene where Jared and Sky fall in love! It’ll be like the days of Jared all over again! Except this time, I won’t break her heart. I’m just about to look further into the diary when I hear a knock on my door.
“Who is it?” I ask.
“Sky.” says a annoyed voice.
“Hey.” I said as I opened the door after quickly hiding the diary.
“Yeah, um, okay, I just wanted to tell you that the day that the plan will take place will be February the fourteenth. It’s perfect because of Valentine’s Day and such. Until then, we need to practice. Every day until the fourteenth, we will practice being a...couple until we get it convincing enough.” She explained. I nod vigorously, wanting to get back to the book.
“Fine, great. Perfect. Bye!” I say hurriedly as I push her gently out the door. She starts to protest, but I close the door and all I hear is silence. I plop back down on the carpet. And read more. After reading about half of the diary, I learn that Sky likes boys who can promise a future and they don’t have to be good-looking, but it helps and they have to treat her gently and like a lady, like they lady she is. I’m ready to try these traits, but I still don’t know how she met Jared. I remember the day she was telling me that he asked her out and she was buzzing with excitement, I just don’t recall her telling me what happened. I suddenly hear another knock on my door. I reluctantly get up and open it. I don’t bother hiding the diary this time, it can’t be Sky, if it was, then she would be banging on the door instead of politely knocking on it. In front of me, I see a little girl of five looking up with saucers as eyes, I’m not fooled though, if she’s in the agency, she has to be a killer.
“What do you want?” I ask.
“Some time, a pony, you know, everything a little girl would ever want.” She answered. I sighed. This is what I get for answering the door for a five year old.
“What do you want from me?” I ask, exasperated.
“Answers.” She says. This time, I am caught by surprise.
“I don’t think I have what you want.” I say.
“Are you Frost?” She asks.
“Yeah… What do you want to know about?” I ask.
“Follow me, let’s go on a little walk, I’ll explain on the way.” She says leading me out of wanting to read Sky’s diary. Why I go with her, I don’t know, but something about her strikes me funny.
“Listen,” she starts. “I’m your sister. Your real sister.”
“Impossible. My parents ditched me the first chance they got, it’s impossible for them to have another child.”
“It’s possible. And most of what they told you at the agency is untrue. Mom and Dad didn’t ditch you, the agency recognized a fighter’s DNA in you and took you away. We’ve been trying to get ahold of you forever, and they said they would let me in today because they thought you wouldn’t go back home. Don’t you see? The agency people are liars! The werewolves are the good people! They’ve been training you to be monsters. Come back and we can live a happy life!” She had tears in her eyes at this point.

“Save your explanation for later. Let’s got to the testing room, let’s see if we actually are siblings.” I say as I pull her to the testing room. I drop a drop of her blood in the scanner and then drop a bit from a cut I previously had. It mixed. That means… That we’re siblings!

I asked Frost out.  I know, new low for me. Obviously he said yes, but I didn’t trust that guy with anything, even if it wasn't mine. I had to go plan things out in a way that made him have to come. I planned out rehearsals would keep him coming, but also wouldn’t defuse my pride. If one person saw what we were doing, then I’m dead. And if I’m dead, I’m taking Frost down with me.

I sit my little sister down in my room. I'm out of breath.
"Do you believe me now?" She asked.
"Um, Yeah." I say breathlessly. "So, um, tell me about yourself."
"My name is Jesse and I'm four. I'm a prodigy at everything. They called me the super human. I was taken into the lab. They tried to take the genius from my DNA and turn it into something they could plug into everyone to make the human race smarter. It didn't work, and I'm glad because I still want to be special. You see, that's why they took you as an agent, Frost, they thought you were the super human but they got the siblings mixed up. They never wanted you they wanted me. They took you away for nothing. That's why you have to come back, come back home, please Frost. Mom and Dad and I miss you so much. We have a big house beside an ocean and everything. We miss you, you'll be loved so much. I hate being an only-child, come and complete our family, please Frost. I love you." Those last words took me by surprise. I had never been loved before. Never. I didn't know the feeling.
"So you're saying that everyone at the agency are liars and that the things that we're hunting are actually the good ones?" I asked, remembering what she said before.

I had plotted and plotted for hours. There were spirals behind my eyelids even when I closed my eyes. I had finally figured out how to defeat Lisa VonShnitzel. What? It's not like I was ruining her future. That would be something a truly evil person would do. No. I'm just taking back what's supposed to be mine. And this time, it won't fail. I'll invite Sam to go on a date with me. But, I'll be Lisa. He'll definitely say yes to Lisa. We'll go out on a couple dates and after that, I'll reveal who I truly am and he'll se that all of me is better than that brat. Okay. Now just where to get the clothes? I'll dye my hair brown like Lisa's easy. Add a ridiculous amount of eyeliner and her clothes and we could be twins. I sneak over to Lisa's cabin and peek in. Nobody's there. Good. I grab a couple of outfits and her eyeliner and head back to my place. Phew. First step: Done. Sam will be mine in no time. I dress up as her quickly. I'm wearing a baby pink leather jacket over a black tank and a black skirt on top of leggings. I grab my gray boots and I head out for Sam. I guess it never occurred with me he would be with Lisa. I walked up to him and there he was: with Lisa. Luckily, their back was turned to me and I got out before they could see me. I needed to keep Lisa busy so I could sneak in and ask Sam out as Lisa; and I knew just how to do it. I knocked on Jared's door two minutes later. He opened it and his mouth dropped wide. I guess I looked a little too much like Lisa.

"It's Rachel!" I said.
"Oh, uh hey. Why are you dressed like Lisa? And why do you look like that with your hair and stuff?" Jared asked, scratching his head.
"Because I have a plan." I muttered.
"Well, what can I help you with?" he asked after we both sat down in his cabin.
"I have a plan to break-up Lisa and Sam, and I'm going to need your help."
"I'm listening."
"I go in and ask Sam out as Lisa, then after a lot of dates, I reveal myself to him and we live happily ever after and you and Lisa can go elsewhere to have a happy ending. Only, I have a few complications that I need help with."
"Love the plan. What do need help with?"
"Two things: First, I need you to distract Lisa so I can ask out Sam. They seem to be stuck at the hip these days."
"Can do."
"The other thing I need is for you to mark Lisa."
"What?"
"Okay, I know it's never been done before, but if we don't experiment, then we'll never know what would happen right?"
"I'm going to get kicked out of the pack. And it's against werewolf law!"
"Actually, It's not. I looked it up. Nothing states that two werewolves can't mark the same person. Knowingly, or accidental."
"Alright, fine, if it breaks up Sam and Lisa." says Jared. "Besides, I've always had sort of a bad boy rep, It's kind of my thing." He pulls back his hair and lets go.
"So the plan takes place tomorrow then. Meet at my cabin. You distract her and I get Sam alone and make up some sort of excuse to ask him out. Okay?" I ask as I get up and walk out of the door without hearing an answer.
"Okay!" I hear Jared shout after me as I slam the door shut. It feels good to have Sam just barely in palms.

As I walk back to Sam’s cabin, I notice that the apple smell is gone, I mean, it was long gone, but it still seemed like it’s spirit was there, or something was at least. Now, as the chilly wind bites into my cheeks, I feel nothing there. No pain, no anger, no happiness. Just me, floating around in the wind, and sometimes even the wind can’t carry me. I feel heavy as I slowly walk back to the cabin. Sam is leaning on the door frame waiting for me.
“You know that I love you right?” asked Sam once I was in earshot distance. Pain coursed through me. I didn’t understand my feelings toward Sam. I don’t think he did either.

It was the big day. The day that the plan would be in place. I woke up and got dressed in my new clothes and redid my hair. I dyed it brown, and then waited for Jared to come. He got here 10 minutes late.
"Ready?" I asked, too tired to lecture him about tardiness.
"Yeah, I'll go out first." he said as he stepped out.
"Wait, we need a script, I have to know exactly what you're going to say."
"Um, I guess I'll say that I need to ask her something really important."
"Fine, good. and you have to give me a time frame. Like, ten minutes?"
"Yeah, sure whatever." he says as he leaves. I wait for ten minutes, and then wait another minute just to make sure that Jared really has Lisa out of there. I walk out and track Sam down by the abandoned playground, leaning on the slide. I walk out like Lisa would, a skip in her left foot. That's right, I did my homework.
"Hey Sam!" I say perkily. I sounded weird. I needed to be softer.
"Uh hey. Why are you back? Didn't Jared say he had to ask you something?" Sam asked, confused.
"Yeah, uh, not important, listen, I was wondering if maybe you would like to go out with me?"
"Yeah, absolutely."
"Okay! Bye!" I say as I do my walk, er Lisa's walk back to the path that leads to my cabin.
"Lisa, are you okay? Did you hurt your leg?"
"No, I'm fine." I blushed as I walked quickly back out of eyesight. There, I see Lisa and Jared leaning against my cabin talking. What was that boy thinking? Was he crazy? I sighed and hid behind the bushes until they were done.
"Alright babe. See you later, k?" said Jared suavely. Lisa walked away giggling. I came out of my hiding place as soon as I knew she was out of earshot.
"You did not just land a date with Lisa!" I gushed.
"Oh, it's just you. You scared the crap out of me!" said Jared clutching his heart a bit exaggeratedly.
"Forget that, did you just land a date with Lisa or did she just get more giggly than usual?" I mocked.
"Nah, it's just...some unfinished business. DUCK!" screamed Jared.
"Where? OMG I love those little-" I started turning around searching for the yellow balls of fur.
"No, you idiot, I mean duck, someone's coming!" screamed Jared stomping his feet. Realizing the truth, I sprinted in my cabin just in time, before I heard footsteps.
"Hey, I think I forgot my bracelet somewhere, I was talking to you and it dropped somewhere. It's not here, do you think Rachel would mind if I looked in there?" fretted Lisa.
"Uh yeah, actually she's right in there." said Jared, like an idiot. I winced and sprinted to the bathroom and took off Lisa's cardigan. I ripped off the red cheerleader skirt, and I was in a hot pink v-neck t-shirt and black leggings that were 0.5 inches above my mid-calf. Just then, I heard the door opened. I had changed my clothes, (using my werewolf skills) in about the one second that it would have taken Lisa to open the door.
"Hey Rachel? Anybody?" said Lisa wearily.
"Uh, yeah, here. Sorry, I was changing." I said nervously stepping out of the bathroom and closing the door carefully and casually behind me.
"Sorry to disturb, but um, I lost my bracelet outside your door, and it could've slipped in your room. I know it's just a stupid bracelet, but Sam gave it to me, and- did you dye your hair dark brown? It looks so pretty!" gushed Lisa, automatically changing moods like a freaky clown.
"Uh, thanks. Nope, didn't see a bracelet. Anywhere. I would love to continue talking to you, but I've got a thing. To do. Elsewhere. Kay? Bye!" I said in my best Lisa voice as I shoved her out the door.
"But I didn-" started Lisa as I slammed the door. I sighed. If it weren't for Jared's stupidity, I would have never been in this mess.

I feel like a liar. As a little girl, I've always been honest. In fact, I don't think I have ever lied about anything. Sure, I might have not told something to someone, but that's because they never asked. Overall, I'm not one of those people who lie on a regular basis. It feels like this one lie that I made, seemed to lead to even more necessary lies.

I could smell her. She was close.

"Come one Jack!" I whisper-yell.
"Okay, okay, I'm coming! Geez." said Jack.
"If we're going to kill her we have to strike while the iron is hot." I had been saying that in my head over and over again, and it in no way made what I was going to do right. She was just a teenager. She was very frankly my age. It's not her fault that my mom chose her over me. "But it is her fault" I convinced myself.
"What's that sis?" asked my brother Jack said.
"Nothing. Let's go set up camp. We strike at midnight." I say. I had always been the leader type. Always bossing my brother around.
"Will do." he said. My brother had these big, gorgeous hands. He had muscles the size of lambs. He was always ready to take on whatever came at him. In no more than ten minutes, he had the tent and the fire all set up.
"So, other than the "stealing you mom away from you" thing, what else did this girl do to you?" asks Jack.
"Hey, she's your mom too. That's why you're here with me, to help avenge her. You know the rumors are true." I answer back skeptically.
"No I actually don't.

I sunk my fangs into the juicy skin of the neck. I could still feel her pulse beating, and then I could hear it stop.
"You know you shouldn't be doing this, it's breaking your promise." said a cold dark voice. I sneered.
"If you think a little lecture is going to stop me, then I'm the Queen of Alaska." I answered.
"Shut up." he says as he shoves me to the ground.
"Oh, you want to go there?" I challenge as I drop the corpse.
